The Approach of Privacy Certifications:

It is no secret that online platforms have turned our lives into ever-growing open books instead of making us increasingly anonymous. Today more than ever, our personally identifiable information is accessible to third parties linked to each click or swipe or passively gathered by devices that track our every move. Biometric data has transformed from a marketing case to a powerful targeting tool in less than a decade. Now more than ever, the business risk posed by privacy is more diverse and constantly changing by privacy laws worldwide. Therefore, there is an increasing demand for talented privacy professionals. However, to be part of this trend, you must consider what you enjoy learning and what companies seek. Having said that, you should also be aware of the illusion that if I get more certification, I will get more money; keep in mind that companies will pay for your skills, not for your certificates. Therefore, I will not promote the certificate credentials in this blog post. I want you to have more insight into the most in-demand privacy certifications and spend your money wisely before investing hundreds of dollars. Without further delay, let’s start diving into the list of certificates.

Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP):

CIPP Certifications

The certification on my list is Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP). The CIPP, which focuses on the practical application of privacy laws and regulations, is the most comprehensive current privacy and data protection certification program offered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. As compliance regulations vary by location, the CIPP program offers four concentrations, each relevant to a particular region Asia, Europe, the US, and Canada. I recommend this certification to individuals who will likely become data privacy analysts or lawyers who like to specialize in the Privacy field to use as a gateway to pass the first round of HR interviews.

Certified Information Privacy Technologists (CIPT)

CIPT Certifications

The second certification is certified information privacy technologists provided by IAPP. The CIPT validates your understanding of privacy and technology. It validates your dual literacy in privacy and technology that transcends borders. I recommend this certification to professionals already in the Privacy field who want to improve and validate their understanding of data privacy from a technological point of view. Therefore, if you already come from a computer science or information security background, you may prefer other certifications to streamline your job search since you can prove your technical literacy by other means. 591cert has sure-shot pass dumps or proxy services on CIPT, so please reach out for further details.

Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM):

CIPM

The third on my list is another IAPP Certified Information Privacy Manager certification. The CIPM certification is intended for those involved in Risk Management auditing and privacy program Administration daily basis. An individual holding the certificate will usually be expected to run a privacy program or serve as a senior privacy Council, therefore, driving their organization’s privacy culture, unlike the previous certifications. The CIPM certification is for individuals who already have a couple of years of experience in the field; therefore, if you don’t have a background in the area and want to find a certification to use as a stepping stone, I wouldn’t recommend starting with CIPM certification.

Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE):

CDPSE

The following certification on my list is Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer by ISACA. The certification validates the technical skills and knowledge required to assess, build and Implement comprehensive privacy Solutions. It aims to validate that you can fill the gap in technical privacy skills, ensuring that your organization has competent privacy technologies to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency. In 2021, ISACA created this certification, and more than 18000+ people signed up for it within a year after its creation. However, to get the certificate, ISACA requires you to have at least three years of experience in privacy governance or data life cycle. Therefore, this certification might be a better fit for lead privacy managers, privacy Engineers, or senior IT Consultants.

Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO):

CDPO

The fifth certification on my list is Certified Data Protection Officer by the professional evaluation and certification board. This certification enables you to show the competence to perform the role of the Data Protection Officer in a GDPR compliance program implementation. As you may know, European General data protection regulation requires companies meeting specific criteria to assign a Data Protection Officer. Data protection officers must be independent experts responsible for monitoring an organization’s compliance. As the number of international tech companies is increasing daily, certificate holders will undoubtedly have the edge over their competitors—the downside of this certification is that it requires at least five years of personal experience, two of which must be in data protection.

ISO 27701 Certification:

ISO 27701

The sixth certification on my list is ISO 27701 lead auditor certification. ISO 27701 is the most prestigious privacy certification for companies to demonstrate the standard of their privacy program and build more trust in their potential client engagements. Therefore, by obtaining this certificate, privacy professionals can demonstrate compliance in the planning leading and following up on an ISO-compliant privacy program. Certification holders will significantly benefit if a company considers becoming ISO 27701 certified. Therefore, this certification suits those working as in-house compliance officers or information security or privacy Consultants working for auditing companies.

Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner Certification (HCISPP):

HCISPP

The seventh and last privacy certification on my list is the Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner Certification (HCISPP), which the ISC administers. This certification combines cyber security skills with privacy best practices and techniques. It demonstrates that you have the knowledge and ability to implement, manage and assess the privacy and cyber security controls to protect healthcare organizations by using policies and procedures. This certificate suits better for security and privacy compliance officers in healthcare companies.
